Indoors

This is something these little guys are having a hard time getting used to: Indoor play. All the time. They enjoy going outside for about 5 minutes at a time, but don't last very long. So, we have to get rather creative in our ideas of what to do to help out with the cabin fever.

Here we went to the mall and let them play in a 'play area'. It was somewhat pathetic as this little slide thing they are on was pretty much the only thing they could play on...for all of the kids there!

We have also had fun at the local McDonald's play place:

I would really love, though, to go to a playground where I don't feel obligated to buy chicken nuggets and french fries along with yet another My Little Pony kids meal.

We've also had fun talking on the phone (Andrew NEVER gives the phone back...) and dressing up a bit...

Robyn came with her girls for a few days, and we thought up a few more indoor fun things to do...like making sugar cookies:

That got a bit messy, but the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves! I thought they would enjoy putting on the frosting the most (I did! I LOVE to eat frosting all by itself...especially Rainbow Chip...), but they only wanted to play with the cookie cutters. That's fine.

We also had some interesting bath times:

They had to have a lot of bubbles and toys, and it did get quite interesting at times.

You'd think that in a place where it snows from September to sometimes July, they would have more indoor options...but, no. They're thinking of putting in another outdoor swimming pool! You have to ask yourself, 'Why?' They would be more intelligent if they put in an indoor playground somewhere instead. All those poor young moms with little kids who have to try to be extra creative with their kids at home all day with sub-zero temperatures outside while their husbands are at school... Rexburg needs to re-think their activity availability.
