Broken

I've done it again. I broke my rib 4 weeks ago. Today, I broke my little toe. Oh, this is beyond excruciating!!! I was walking quickly down a hallway doing our 'morning chores' and smacked my little toe on a door frame. I heard a crack, and thought to myself, "Wow! I cracked the wood on the door frame! I must have hit that pretty hard!" Then, I crumpled to the floor gasping in pain! I thought to myself that I just needed to walk it off. However, the more I walked the worse the pain got. I could hardly walk and I was sick to my stomach from the pain. So, I called Devin and he came and took me into the health unit. One look and the verdict was in! Fracture! So, my two toes are using the buddy system now and giving some support. I can barely walk without feeling the need to throw up. My foot is quickly turning amazing colors and swelling up like crazy.

Isn't my flip-flop tan fantastic? Ha! And the nail polish is STILL there from our pedicure around my birthday! Whew! Maybe that's why I broke my toe? It was that British nail varnish! Now we know what happens, Leonora!

I'm supposedly supposed to take it easy for 4 to 6 weeks. We only have 5 weeks left, and I HATE sitting still!!!!

Happy Birthday, Claire!

My Little Girl is FIVE. It blows my mind.

She made a request for her birthday cake: Strawberry Shortcake. But not just any shortcake. She wanted a chocolate and vanilla marble cake, with strawberries and Cool Whip. Could you be a little more specific, please?

Happy Birthday, my darling daughter! We LOVE you!!!

Trunk or Treat

Another fun Halloween Party at the Embassy: Trunk or Treat!! :)

Claire switched to being Tinker Bell, thanks to her newest birthday present from Grandma and Papa: A twinkling wand (she doesn't know that the bottom half of the wand is glittery lip gloss...and I don't think I'm going to tell her any time soon...)

Andrew was Batman, complete with cape:

Peter wanted to be like his big brother: (I made his cape the same time as Joshua's...isn't he CUTE??!?!??!?)

t

(That little white dot is the moon. It was seriously a perfect Halloween night! Too bad it didn't come out well with the camera. Someday we'll upgrade...but not yet...)

We decorated our car again with our super cool monster mouth!

This year, I sat inside and gave out the candy so I could keep off my toe. I REALLY enjoyed it! The looks on those kids' faces as they came up to a giant black mouth and said trick or treat was priceless...and even better when a hand popped out of the 'mouth' holding candy to stick in their bags! Hilarious!!

Lots of other decorated cars:

Oh what fun to dress up as someone else and gets bags of candy for it...

Halloween Carnival

There was a Halloween Carnival at Josh's school...unfortunately, because of the broken toe, I couldn't go! So Devin gallantly and bravely took ALL 5 kids (including Kayla, our newest 6 year old daughter...) to the carnival alone while I made Claire's birthday cake! :)

Claire was a Spanish Dancer:

Josh was Superman (isn't that cape SWEET? Yes, I made it myself. I sort of copied the symbol from his pj's...I mean, costume...onto yellow felt, cut it out, and glued it on his cape. Lucky I had some red material onhand! I did all of that before his bus came in the morning before school! whew!)

At the carnival:

They all came home covered in cotton candy and very hyper! Gotta love Halloween.... :/

Harses, harses, harses, harses...

Yes, picture Meg Ryan singing this in as she's driving her car, right before she listens to 'Sleepless in Seattle' for the first time... Good times!

However, this has nothing to do with Christmas, and everything to do with Horses! Our Wednesday outing this week was to 'Club Hippique' to see the horses!

They even had a fun little playground where Andrew stood on top of these huge cement circle and screamed at the top of his lungs:
"I'M KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
(Everyone thought he was hurt because he shouted constantly, but once I told them what it was he was saying, no one was concerned anymore.) He had the time of his life!

Claire, on the other hand, was afraid of the horses, and just wanted to know when it was snack time. Although, she really enjoyed playing with her best buddy, Kayla!

Even Peter enjoyed the backpack, and 'told' me all about it! :)

Thank goodness for all my Mummies in Crime and our outings!!
